OpenStudy (ness9630):

Find out what the book/reading is mostly about and things to expect. Get the main idea of it.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

Idk, depends on what type of book is it, like if you are reading a math or other course textbook, get a paper pencil and other tools to write some staff down. If it's a fun book that you are reading as an entertainment, then idk, get a soda hamburger as Stardust24 said, and relax and have fun! ( If you are Jewish and reading a "Torah" scroll, get up, and get dressed (preferably), I mean not shorts and t-shirt ) What are you reading, @deedee812 ?

OpenStudy (zale101):

If you're reading a book suggested by your class, then grab a notebook and take notes. If it's for entertainment, look for a comfortable place to read :)

Before reading ask yourself questions. What is this book going to be about? Depending on the type of book you can always glance through it and look at the names of the chapters or subheadings of each section and try and figure out what you are going to read about.

Before reading the whole story, I first try to collect information about the author, then the summary of the book and the contents.. It makes the book more interesting and then I start reading the story.

I would say use the bathroom because you wont want to stop reading in the middle of the book...
