can someone help me on my algebra work please @campbell_st @DSS @RadEn ???
What's your question
2. Using the properties of exponents and radicals, design at least three different equivalent forms of x². You must show how each one can be simplified back to x² in two or more steps. Stretch your mind and get creative! Keep in mind that something too simple, like x • x would not be acceptable since it takes only one step to convert it to x². i chose (x^4)^1/2 (x^8)^1/4 (x^16)^1/8 but my teacher said "Your three are essentially the same problem, can you give me two different other problems using different properties that will also simplify back to x^2? Your examples are all the same. As the questions says, stretch your mind and get creative!"
\[x ^{10 }- x ^{8}= x ^{(10-8)}= x ^{2}\]
well remember the rule for multiplying the same base... add the powers \[x^a \times x^b = x^{a + b}\] and division, subtract the powers \[\frac{x^a}{x^b} = x^a \div x^{b} = x^{a - b}\] so pick numbers for a and b where the answer will be 2 so a + b = 2 could be 1 + 1, -3 + 5 and the difference... similar 5 - 3 = 2
