Humans and intestinal bacteria. Humans eat food, and the bacteria in their stomach helps break down that food. It causes flatulence to rid the body of gases, and consumes food that isn't picked up by the stomach acid or isn't used throughout your body. This food is collected and released in forms of gas. The most common being methane and oxygen.
