how do you convert 16.7 inches to yards and then do it in scientific notation?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

First, find out how many inches are in a 1 yard.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay so 3 feet in 1 yard and 12 inches/ ft 16.7 inches x (1ft/ 12 inches) x (1 yard/ 3ft) = 0.46388 yard It's just dimensional analysis so it would be 4.6 x 10^-1

OpenStudy (aaronq):

lol nice imperial units.. hail to the queen.
