Help? Graphing things and stuff I don't understand attached below

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

Coincident: the two equations are the same. Consistent and independent: the two lines cross, and aren't the same. Inconsistent: The two lines do not cross.

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

What does this system look like to you?

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

not enough info

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

That would seem to be true at first glance, but divide both sides of the second equation by 2 and compare it to the first.

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

uh....what?? o.o

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

8y+2x=4 divide boths ides of the equation by two. Let me know what you get.

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

I cant divide 8y+2x by 2 because the variables

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

yes you can. you get 4y+x.

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

4y+x=2 right? have to do the same thing to both sides to keep them equal.
