Why did the teachings of Buddhism become more appealing to the Chinese around AD 200? Answers They were becoming more disillusioned with Confucianism. Han society was becoming less stable. The government provided incentives for people to practice Buddhism. Officials at Buddhist temples were known for generous donations of food and other goods to the poor of China.
