what is the main difference between a cell nucleus and a nucleoid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The main difference between the two is that nucleus is the membrane that is enclosed in the organelle found in eukaryotic cells and they contain genetic materials with DNA molecules while the nucleoid contains all the genetic materials. These make the cell nucleus have more functions than the nucleoid such as cell compartmentalization and gene expression.
