what is the median of 1/4,1/2,3/4,1/2,1/2 and 1
3/4 +1/2 divided by 2.. I think so
First order your list. It's not ordered properly.
well what i do in this is i turn them into decimals and i add them up and divide it by the number of groups, but then i get an answer that i need to turn into a fraction, and when i do that, the answer i got isnt in one of the choices
What you're doing is computing the mean, not the median. The median is the term that appears in the "middle" of your list of numbers. So the first thing you want to do is order the list from smallest to largest and then find that middle term. Since you have 6 terms in your list, the median is the average of the two middle terms (i.e. the average of the 3rd and 4th terms) in the ordered list. Does this clarify things? :-)
oh sorry i thought i was doing mean and then i realized its median, thank you so much
