NEVER MIND!
so you started the question with "the students grade is 85" then end the question with "what is the students grade?" ?
This is unclear. If the Student's grade is 85, then his "score now" is 85. Is this a trick question ?
and what does "student's grade is 85" mean ? before the final?
phi, his score is 85 before the final was counted or scored, not add as a temporary zero or graded, and now after final what is his grade based on the conditions listed in the question?
i need help on my math problem
well ask him
So you are saying that the grade before taking the final is determined by 0.8 * other_stuff+ 0.2*test_grad = 85
I assume the test grade is the average of the 9 tests taken (not including the final) 0.8X + 0.2*test_avg = 85
I don';t know where you get 0.8 * other_stuff+ 0.2*test_grad = 85
I am trying to make sense of the statement: Test grade is 20% of his grade what is the other 80% of his grade due to ?
I don't think what the other 80% are due to matters, we can still find the shange in his grade, or perhaps not? I know that the final is 4% of the test grade, and therefore 8% of his entire grade am I right?
I menat 40% not 4% sorry for the typo...
if this problem is doable, then we should be able to write down some equations. and the question is, is his current grade computed by using 0.8 * other_stuff + 0.2*test_grades = 85
phi, don't worry about it.
If the question stated after 9 tests, his grade is 85 the final test, where he scored 90, will be 40% of his final grade. then you can do the problem: 0.6*85 + 0.4*90= 87 but your question as stated is unclear, and I think leaves out info we need.
