Cubed Roots HELP! I need to simplify 7x^3 - 56 7x^3 - 56 7(x^3 - 56) Now what? I know the answer, it is 7(x-2)(x + 2x + 4) but can someone please explain to me how they got there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I apologize it is 7(x^3 - 8)

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

You need to factor \(7(x^3 - 8)\) ?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

The factorization of \(a^3 - b^3\) is as follows: \(a^3 - b^3 = (a - b)(a^2 + ab + b^2) \) This is known as a difference of cubes.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! That was the formula I couldnt remember!

You're welcome.
