Paradise Lost Question

Write an essay explaining what makes Satan an anti-hero and how Milton's characterization helps establish the figure of Satan as an awe-inspiring, terrifying being.

Not asking for anyone to answer this for me, but thoughts to get me rolling would be so helpful.

First you need to look into what an anti-hero is. Then, based on your reading of Paradise Lost, determine how Satan fits into that category. Then just spell it all out. Make sure to be as specific as you can. Teachers like specific answers better than wide-open general answers that don't demonstrate that you've read and understood the work.
