Nara created two right triangles. She started with LJKL and drew and altitude from point K to side JL. The diagram below shows LJKL and some of its measurements, in centimeters. Based on the information in the diagram (below), what is the measure of x to the nearest tenth of a centimeter?

It's a special triangle, well the left one is

Check out this link bout it http://www.regentsprep.org/Regents/math/algtrig/ATT2/Ltri30.htm

OpenStudy (nikato):

U should be able to find the length of the altitude(short side) with this info. And u can apply the Pythagorean theorem on the right triangle to find x

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

A 30 60 90 triangle has sides in the proportions of 1, square root of 3, and 2 So if JL = 5 cm then JK = 5*(2* sq root (3)) and KL = (5 / sq root (3))
