You cash your first paycheck and decide to place it "under the mattress" at your house. Is this a smart financial decision? Why or why not?

I would say its not a smart financial decision in my opinion because what if something were to happen to your house and someone robbed it, it burned down, etc. If something bad were to happen to your house it would be destroyed and the money with it.

Also in the bank you would be gaining interest and the government protects up to $100,000 in a bank. so unless our government crashed your money would be safe.
