as th orthogonal sides are equal and the given triangle is right angled triangle. the two opposite angles are 45 degree each now sin 45 = 1/sqrt2 = x/8 =>1/sqrt2 = x/8 now solve for x

yes their is a way you have the value of x now by pythagoras theorm you can check it i mean 8^2 = x^2 +x^2
