Find the area of a regular pentagon with all sides six feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pent- mean 5. The shape has 5 sides If you want to find the area, you have to know that dimension. Are you sure you're not looking for perimeter?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A pentagon can be divided into 110 different triangles. Then you can find the area with the height and base being 3. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry just 10 triangles XD

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

\(\bf \textit{Area of a regular polygon}=\cfrac{1}{4}ns^2\cdot cot\left(\cfrac{180}{n}\right)\\ \quad \\ n=\textit{number of sides in the polygon}\\ s=\textit{length of each side}\)
