78 = -2 ( m+3) +m if im right im helping my friend here he dont have an account just need to be sure because you would end up with -84 = m+m

Not quite. First you distribute the -2 and get\[78= -2m-6 + m\] after that you combine like terms (the M's) \[78= m-6\] then you get all the numbers on one side, so add 6 to each side\[84 = m\]

ok i keep forgetting that m = 1m we never used that untill now so my friend is gona catch so much hell this year thx, also if you know what is the remainder theory my teacher wont tell me...

well. if you are doing long division then it would be whatever is left over at the end ( that is not zero). there may be other uses for it but i don't know of them off the top of my head
