Which are reasons that the Renaissance began in Italy? Choose all answers that are correct A.Greek scholars fleeing wars in Constantinople came to Italy with ancient manuscripts and vast knowledge. B. Many Italian city-states were on or near the sea, and they gained wealth through trade. C. Italian city-states worked together to raise money to repair and restore ancient masterpieces. D. Italy had not suffered the devastation of the Black Plague or other crises of the fourteenth century. `
All of the other answers about politics and scholars and such are true - there is no one, simple answer. In a nutshell, though - Italian trade had made a great many people filthy, stinking rich and I'm not exaggerating. That gave some of them enough power to tell the Vatican to back off, educationally in particular, and it gave them money to afford both education and the finer things in life. If the Vatican hadn't been curtailed we'd still be living in the dark ages.
@w0wza This answer justifies the option B
