Solve the following system of equations using a algebra method. If the solution has no solution please say so :) y=3y=-7 2x-6y=-14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it basically gives you a value of y...so you plug in to find x.... then plug the value of x back into the first equation to find y :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait.. there's something wrong with that first equation....can you check if you wrote it right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I checked if I did unless it doesn't have a solution maybe??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm not sure then... i've never had a problem like this that has two = signs in one part... :/ i'm gonna guess that maybe you subtract the y and get 2y? lol not sure... @jim_thompson5910 do you maybe understand this? haha i'm a bit confused about this now :P

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

the equation y=3y=-7 has too many equal signs there has to be a typo somewhere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I checked it but its the same :s I copied what it said

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

then you'll have to ask the teacher about it it seems like the teacher or the person who made the question made a mistake
