how do you tell the difference between a log and exponent using a sequence?

1) Take the log of each number
2) If you plot it and it is a straight line, then the sequence is an exponential sequence

B)
1) Take the exponential of each number
2) If you plot it and it is a straight line, then the sequence is a log sequence
