HELP PLEASE? Solve and graph the inequality |4-2v| <8 Write the inequality as two inequalities without absolute value.

This site will help its a life saver https://www.mathway.com/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer is -6<x<6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also solve the inequalities and write the solution set Graph the solution on a number line

OpenStudy (mertsj):

|4-2v|<8 means that 4-2v is less than 8 units from 0

OpenStudy (mertsj):

If something is less than 8 units from 0, it must be between 8 and -8 so you should write: -8<4-2v<8

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Then you solve that by subtracting 4 from each part which gives you: -12<-2v<4

OpenStudy (mertsj):

So now you have to divide all the parts by -2 which means you have to reverse the inequality symbols and you will get: 6>v>-2

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Which looks like this on the number line: |dw:1389320430941:dw|
