WELCOME TO OS;) The purpose of the naturalization process is to see if a person should become a citizen of a country. What the country looks for is if the person wants to be a citizen, if they know enough about the country to survive in the country and help the country, if the person has good moral character, and they check for other things too like how long they have already lived in the country. My information was based on my U.S. Civics book. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_purpose_of_the_naturalization_process?#slide=7
