OpenStudy (anonymous):

is a mirror's surface transparent, translucent, or opaque? how do you know?

OpenStudy (zubhanwc3):

it is opaque, we cant see through it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A mirror is neither transparent nor translucent because you can hardly see through it. What you see is only a reflection. A mirror is Opaque The mirror as a whole is opaque but without the silver coating the glass is transparent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Transparent: You can see light through it and shapes (you can see easily through it)- like a window. Translucent: you can see light through it but not shapes (you can't see through it clearly)- like white plastic bag. Opaque- no light or shapes can be seen through it- eg a keyboard.
