Anyone know any interesting/cool math tricks that aren't normally taught?

Any kinda math, just as long as it seemed kinda clever when you heard about it.
I follow the rules...I've heard of the butterfly method, but after trying it myself it was too confusing and went back to the old style. If it ain't broke, don't fix it
I just googled that and... yeah NOPE.
omg just staring at the butterfly method makes me cringe
I can't believe this is how they teach fractions. I watched the beginning of a tutorial video and it just feels like if you asked this lady how to add 1/8 to 1/2 she would immediately freeze and have to draw a butterfly since she probably doesn't know 1/2 is really 4/8.
