2.1 liters is the same as: cm3 and mL Can someone explain this to me please,I feel so stupid that I dont know the answer to this I just started chemistry

OpenStudy (aaronq):

1 L is the same as 1000 mL \(1~cm^3\) is equal to 1 mL

OpenStudy (aaronq):

"milli" = 1 thousandth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry Im still confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1 liter is 1000 mL. Milli means 1/1000, or thousandth.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

they are just units. in the metric system, units increase by a factor of 10. 1 L = 10 dL 1 dL = 10 cL 1 cL = 10 mL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I know the answer to the cm3 not the mL

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (aaronq):

not really sure how one can explain this rather than you memorizing it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cm3 is the same thing as mL. They specify the same volume.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I just dont get how its the same as L

OpenStudy (aaronq):

They're not the same..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok I feel stupid I get it lol...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it's not. 1 liter = 1000 mL or 1000 cm3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there no simple way to do this?I still find this abit confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because I have more questions like this

OpenStudy (aaronq):

memorize that \(1~L=1 ~dm^3\) and \(1~cm^3=1~mL\). also, take a look at the picture i attached

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for trying atleast Im just not good at this

OpenStudy (aaronq):

just practise it a bit, it's easy.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so really I just divide by unit and I get my answer 941 mL x (1 L / 1000 mL) = 0.941 L

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Why didn't you guys just say that aha
