Try \[5x+2=5x+4-2\]

Remember that an equation will have infinitely many solutions if both the left hand side and the right hand side are the same. For example, the above would simplify to 2=2. Try substituting x=1,2,3,4,5 for x in the equation I gave and you will find that the left hand side and the right hand side produce the same value. Hence the equation has infinitely many solutions.
