Which measurement is the most precise? 4.9 ± 0.1 s 4.92 ± 0.01 s 5.01 ± 0.05 s 5.0 ± 0.5 s

The measurement with the least error margin ought to be the most precise right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does that mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I measure something and say that this took 5 s +- 1 s then the actual value is between 6 and 4 If I say that this took 5 s +- 0.1 s then the actual value is between 4.9 and 5.1. Because of the range between 4 and 6 is much larger than between 4.9 and 5.1 the last measurement should be the most precise measurement, don't you agree?

ooooh thank you so much now i get what your saying
