What is the main criticism of campaigns for third party candidates in US elections? They take votes away from the larger parties. They cause greater division on political issues. They take campaign funds from business. They build platforms based on single issues.
#4 is the most legitimate criticism, although in all fairness the same applies to the two major parties as well. A depressing number of voters are what you'd call "single issue voters" anyway, which means they cast their vote solely on he basis of one thing, whether it be abortion, immigration, gun control, etc. It just so happens most issues in American politics are already covered by the two parties, and third parties generally just tackle niche issues and don't have the ability or funding to appeal to larger numbers of people. #1 and #3 make no sense, and as for #2 American politics haven't been this divisive since the Civil Rights era or, God forbid, the Civil War. Third parties, if they contribute at all, certainly cant make the situation any worse.
thank you . made sense
