discuss how the different slopes affect the angles made with the x axis.

Anyone help

OpenStudy (science0229):

What happens when slope=0?

huh?

Is there a relationship between the sign (positive or negative) of the slope of a line and the angle the line makes with the x-axis? For example, if you graph y = 3x+5, versus the graph of y = -3x+5

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Think about it. Draw the line y = 2x. Then draw the line y = 3x. In which of these two cases is the angle between the x-axis and the line greater? How does the slope of the line affect that angle? Again, please draw some diagrams.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'll modify my previous comments a little: Graph y=3x+5. Then graph y=-3x+5.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

What do you think? Look at your sketch of y=3x+5. Is the angle FROM the x-axis TO this line positive or negative?
