OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does a golgi do?

OpenStudy (potatoes.ramu):

Golgi bodies are secretory in function.

OpenStudy (potatoes.ramu):

They synthesise macromolecules.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry but I don't understand that. I am in 7th grade...

OpenStudy (potatoes.ramu):

Golgi bodies are small parts of the cell

OpenStudy (potatoes.ramu):

They make stuff that the cell needs to use.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know what it is, but what does it make?

OpenStudy (potatoes.ramu):

Proteins

OpenStudy (anonymous):

s an organelle found in most eukaryotic cells. Part of the cellular endomembrane system, the Golgi apparatus packages proteins inside the cell before they are sent to their destination; it is particularly important in the processing of proteins for secretion. So the Golgi bodies are like a packaging center. my teacher said to think of the parts of the body like a factory.
