C looks correct
But I'm not sure though
Yes, C is the correct one.. (3*7)-1 = 20 *7 is the absolute value of -7
Yay
Letter D... V(h,k) h =5 ; k=8
For the second problem the vertex is at (-5, 8)
@iappreciateyourhelp Letter B Absolute value always are greater than 1. It also may be 0 if x is equal to -1.
I think it's C.
x + a shifts it to the left by "a" units and x - a shifts it to the right by "a" units (where a is positive).
I corrected two wrong answers and it seems to fall on deaf ears and so I am out.
@ranga Sorry, why is the answer (-5, 8) Pls.. correct me if my answer is wrong...
-3|x + 5| + 8 is a graph of |x| shifted LEFT by 5 units and shifted UP by 8 units. Therefore the vertex will be at x = -5 (because shifted LEFT) and u = +8 (because shifted UP).
@ranga Thanks... :)))
Yes, g(x) = -|x + 3| is the correct answer.
I'm confused with the signs...
The third definition applies when x = -6. f(-6) = (-6)^2 - 1 = ?
try again.
yes.
Just add the two functions.
x^2 + 3 + x - 7 = ?
you are just throwing out answers. sorry.
x^2+x-4
