Ken went to the store for his mother. He spent $2.37 on groceries. In addition, his mother said he could spend 35¢ on candy. What was his change from a five dollar bill?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i will give a medal

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

you have to do addition to solve for this problem. he spent 2.37 and his mom said that he can spend 25cents more. when you find the sum, you then subtract it from $5.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

do you now understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

no problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i got -2.38. would that be 38.cents

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

2.37+0.25=2.62 5.00-2.62=2.38
