how do i write equations in function form?

OpenStudy (amoodarya):

example x=3x+5+x^2 you can write it f(x)=x-3x-5-x^2 then find the zeros of f(x)=0

OpenStudy (amoodarya):

\[\sqrt{3x-1}=4x+2 \rightarrow f(x)=4x+2-\sqrt{3x-1} \rightarrow then find zeros of f(x)\]

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Use \(f(x) \) instead of \(y\).
