Help asap please? trying to get my grade up by tomorrow. 1. Look at the shape of Mercury’s orbit. Is it a circle? (The polar graph paper is a perfect circle.) 2. If the shape of Mercury’s orbit is not a circle, then how would you describe the shape? Does it have a geometric name? 3. Where is the position of the sun within the orbit? Is it at the center? If not, how would you describe the sun’s location?
heres the circle
can you help ? @whpalmer4
Eh, it looks like a circle to me, if what you attached is the orbit. Where is the orbit?
what do you mean where is it?
Which one is the orbit? The attachment?
Im guessing yeah, thats all i got with this assignment.
http://www.messenger-education.org/images/archive/around_sun_img.gif What shape is that?
a circle.
Nope. Here, this might help: http://theo.x10hosting.com/examples/Ellipse/Ellipse3.jpg
As Kepler determined hundreds of years ago, the orbits of the planets are ellipses, with the Sun at one of the two foci of each ellipse. Ellipses are elongated circles.
second part i think goes with it.
