5/9*X/21=? I'm am trying to find the dimensions of the Swedish flag and I need to convert.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 37.8 is this correct? Anyone?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

what is the value of X?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it 37.8?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Swedish flags come in many different sizes, you know :-)

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

why don't you back up and tell me the whole problem...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My flag is a certain way :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okej

OpenStudy (anonymous):

http://www.crwflags.com/fotw/flags/se.html Look at and scroll to bottom to see it.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Okay, so the width of the flag is 5+2+9 units, and the height is 4+2+4 units.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ja, I saw that, but I have them changed.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

If you know one dimension of the flag, we can find the other one by the proportion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The top left loyalty is 6 and same with bottom left.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

so it is 6 units instead of 4 like in that flag, and you want to know what that does to everything else?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

|dw:1389581566774:dw| well, if it went from 4 to 6, that means the ratio is 6:4 or 6/4 * the previous dimension.
