OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so first do what's in the parenthesis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply 5 *5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now 25^4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

25*25*25*25 hint: use a calculator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

390625

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep! good job

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the options are 5^8 5^16 5^2 5^6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. haha we could've saved a lot of time. It said simplify, not solve.... So when you have a power inside a parenthesis and one outside you multiply them so (5^2)^4 2*4 = 8 Which is the same thing was 5^8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, I didn't read it all the way.
