what is cDNA

thomaster (thomaster):

Complementary DNA It's DNA synthesized from an mRNA (messenger RNA) template.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cDNA is the sequence from any given gene, synthesized from mRNA as stated above, which as a result contains no introns and is therefore the sequence of DNA which will ultimately be translated into a protein.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a complementary DNA..it can sometime bind with the actual DNA by hydrogen bonding and hamper in protein synthesis..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

cDNA is the DNA which is synthesized from mRNA template by the reaction catalyzed by the enzymes reverse transcriptase and DNA polymerase. When scientists want to express a specific protein in a cell that does not normally express that protein, they will transfer the cDNA that codes for the protein to the recipient cell. Its also used in gene cloning or gene probes in the creation of cDNA library.
