OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

Write the equation of the line that passes through (4, 2) and is parallel to the line y = 2x – 1. A. x – y = 6 B. 2x – y = 6 C. 2x – y = 1 D. 2x – y = –1

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

standard form: y=mx + c; where m is slope of the line and c the y-intercept. so for two parallel lines, their slopes i.e. m is the same. So what is the slope of the new line?

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

c?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

Ah u got the right slope but u also need to find c in the new eqn...try put in x=4 and y=2 to solve for c plz?
