@phi @mathstudent55 HELP ME PLEASE
The graph below plots a function f(x). graph of line segment going through ordered pairs 0, 50 and 2,100 and extend beyond 2,100 If x represents time, the average rate of change of the function f(x) in the first two seconds is
@RC_CA you think you can help?
hello @RC_CA @phi @thomaster @mathstudent55
Find the slope using the points (0, 50) and (2, 100).
Im not really good at this can you tell me how?
they are asking you to find the slope of the line. change in y divided by change in x
okay? so what do i put as the answer?
see http://www.khanacademy.org/math/algebra/linear-equations-and-inequalitie/slope-and-intercepts/v/slope-of-a-line-2 for how to do this. It is short.
waitwaitwait...count up and then over?
when they give you the numbers you can use subtraction
For points \( (x_1, y_1) \) and \((x_2, y_2) \), the slope, m, of the line through them is \(m = \dfrac{y_2 - y_1}{x _2 - x_1} \)
do what?
take 5 minutes and watch Khan
okay im gonna watch it...not saying i will know how to do this but im watching
okay i watch it but my graph doesn't give the values.
ordered pairs (0, 50) and (2,100)
@phi
can you find the change in y?
