i give medals! You kick a soccer ball with a speed of 18 m/s at an angle of 43°. How long does it take the ball to reach the top of its trajectory? A. 0.95 s B. 1.01 s C. 1.25 s D. 1.12 s

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If the ball is kicked at an angle, it has both an x (horizontal) and a y (vertical) component to its velocity, right? Which one of those two, either horizontal or vertical, will have an effect on how the the ball is in the air?

~how long the ball is in the air

it would be horizontal, correct? @alltehmaffs

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@abbyisaprincess Vertical, actually. Think of it as if the ball were kicked completely upwards versus completely horizontal - completely upwards would be up in the air for the maximum amount of time, and horizontal would never leave the ground. So, if we look at the velocity of the ball right at the start |dw:1389694780008:dw|
