If the ball is kicked at an angle, it has both an x (horizontal) and a y (vertical) component to its velocity, right?  Which one of those two, either horizontal or vertical, will have an effect on how the the ball is in the air?

@abbyisaprincess Vertical, actually.  Think of it as if the ball were kicked completely upwards versus completely horizontal - completely upwards would be up in the air for the maximum amount of time, and horizontal would never leave the ground.
