OpenStudy (anonymous):
I need to convert these to a mixed number (in simplest form of course). I can only get so far, then I get stuck. I think I do it wrong... please help: -8 3/4 + -11 1/3 = ?. 12 is the LCD, so, I get -29/4 = -34/3. Extended out to 261/12 = 136/12. My final answer is 397/24 which cannot be reduced. it looks wrong!! Thanks for help :)
