OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

What is the equation of the line that passes through (–2, 3) and is parallel to 2x + 3y = 6?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

when two lines are parallel, their slopes are the same. What is the slope of 2x+3y=6?

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

2

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

nope - move the 2x to the right hand side and divide both sides by 3...what would u get?

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

4

OpenStudy (raden):

the slove of line ax + by = c is m = -a/b with m is the slope

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

Still nope - i will move it for u....3y=-2x+6....dividing both sides by 3....

OpenStudy (sonyalee77):

y=-2x+2

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):

+2 is right but what about -2x? u forgot to divide that by 3 :(
