Rotation is the circular movement of an object around a center (or point) of rotation. A three-dimensional object rotates always around an imaginary line called a rotation axis. A practical demonstration of how the Earth rotates on its axis to create day and night. The Earth's rotation is the cause of day and night. As the Earth rotates, a part of it faces the sun , and hence receives the sunlight, So there is Day there and the other part doesn't receive the sunlight and therefore that is Night.
