OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[5^{-2}=\frac{ 1 }{25 }*\frac{ 4 }{4 }=\frac{ 4 }{100 }=.04\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@surjithayer please read the code of conduct (below, left). this is not a place to just give out answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[5^{-2}=\frac{ 1 }{5^{2} }=\frac{ 1 }{25 }=.04\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x ^{-a}=\frac{ 1 }{x ^{a} }\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Cuz I have to solve 3(-3)/5^-2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So that would be 9/0.04...?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 3\left( -3 \right) }{5^{-2} }=-9*5^{2}=?\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ 1 }{x ^{a} }=1*x ^{-a}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-9/25 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no it is- 9*25 sign of exponential powe changes when it goes from numerator to denominator and viceverse

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But isn't that turning it into multiplication?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[here~5^{-2} ~goes~from~denominator~\to~numerator~you~have~\to~multiply\[by~5^{2}~i.e.,25\]\]
