A spinner is divided into 8 equal sections as shown below. What is the theoretical probability that the arrow will not land on a section labeled E or O?

Is there an attachment, photo??

Considering there are 8 spots you can land on, but they cross 2 out, 6/8. simplify to 3/4 That is what I think; not sure

OpenStudy (judygreeneyes):

If they are all the same size, the total probability is 100%, so each section is 1/8 of that. The theoretical probability of not landing on E or O is the same as the probability of landing on the other 6 out of 8 sections, which is 6/8 or 75% as @RanandoOnley perfectly.

OpenStudy (judygreeneyes):

Ooops. OK, the picture changes that! There are two sections labeled E, and one labeled O, so out of the 8 sections, you want to not land on 3. The the probability of not landing on them is 5/8 or 62.5%.

thx :)
