As we know that funamental units cannot be defined in terms of other unit..... isnt it that the unit of metre is defined in terms of second??????

OpenStudy (lastdaywork):

We have given a particular value to the speed of light in vacuum and defined metre in terms of the distance it travels in a particular time period. As time has a fundamental unit, one among distance and speed must have a fundamental unit. It is chosen to be distance (either for historical or operational reasons, i am not sure).
