how are compounds and mixtures alike?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They both are pure substances

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can be a pure substance because its a mixture

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a compound is a pure substance made up of two or more elements chemically combined. a compound can be broken down into simpler substances, but it takes a chemical reaction to do so.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there both made of two or more substances

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how is it pure if there more than one substance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You use more than one substance if you want to combine them. If you dont there are just one with no combinations, chemically combined with elements and can be broken down with only chemicals.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i get that but i thought to be a pure sub it need to be only one substance

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry but i haft to go but thank you so much for your help

OpenStudy (anonymous):
