Please hep!! I need this done by today or I'll fail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sure i'll help

Solve the following system of equations by linear combination: 3x + 2y = 7 y = x – 4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the math mans here hes got it covered :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the second equation gives you what y is so plug that into the first equation 3x+2(x-4)=7 now solve for x 3x+2x-8=7 combine terms 5x-8=7 add 8 5x=15 divide by 5 x=3 plug that into the second equation y=3-4 y=-1 solution (3,-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

told ya

OpenStudy (anonymous):

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you help me with a few more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sure

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Solve, using linear combination. 5x + 2y = –4 –3x + 2y = 12

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well if we multiply the second equation by -1 and add the equations together we have 8x=-16 divide by 8 x=-2 plug into an equation (it don't matter still get same answer) -3*-2+2y=12 and solve for y 6+2y=12 2y=6 y=3 answer: (-2,3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks, i have so much trouble with this :/ How many solutions are there to the following system of equations? 4x – 14y = 6 –2x + 7y = –3 a)0 b)1 c)2 c)infinitely many

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well we need to get both equations int y=mx+b form 4x-14y=6 -14y=6-4x y=(2/7)x-(3/7) -2x+7y=-3 7y=2x-3 y=(2/7)x-(3/7) we have exact same line so the answer would be infinitely many

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I seriously owe you!!! Solve this system of equations using any method. 4x – y = 5 3x + y = 16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well we can add the equations together and get 7x=21 divide x=3 substitute 4*3-y=5 12-y=5 -y=-7 y=7 answer (3,7)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Each small kite costs $4, while each large kite costs $7. If the total money collected selling kites is $150, and 30 kites are sold, which system of equations can be used to find out how many of each size kite are sold? Let s be the small kites and l be the number of large kites.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which equation will result if the substitution method is used to solve the following system of linear equations? x + y = 6 x = y + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. do you just need the system or the amount of kites sold as well 4s+7l=150 s+l=30 2. (y+2)+y=6 2y+2=6 2y=4 y=2 x=2+2 x=4
