better communications. If you need help with something find faster, if your able to download apps they can keep you occupied instead of going out and doing something that will get you in trouble, time consuming, alarm clock or reminders. GPS wont get lost, nationwide (usually house phones cost to call out of area) , if someone is busy and its an emergency you can send text messages, faster communication.
