Can you teach me how to find the product of (4x-4y)(2x+y)??? Will give medal

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Have you heard of the "FOIL" method of multiplying out the product of two binomials?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah I have heard of foil before, can you give me a quick refresher on it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks for not responding to me, retriceole

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Here's a simple example: (a+b)(c+d) is the product of two binomials. FOIL translates to first, outer, inner and last. First, multiply together the first term of the first binomial and the first term of the second: ac. Next, multiply together the outermost terms of the two binomals: ad. Third, mult. tog. the innermost terms of the 2 bionomials: bc Last, mult. tog. the last terms of the two binoms.: bd. Then write out (a+b)(c+d)=ac + ad + bc + bd. That's it. Now you try the multiplication in the problem you've posted.
