The first thing that comes to mind is that a body in motion will stay in motion unless acted upon by an external force. Points to consider: 1. From the point of view of the egg in free fall, when it hits the ground it is being acted upon by an external force. 2. The eggshell can absorb a particular amount of force without breaking. 3. Force = Mass x Acceleration (remember that deceleration is negative acceleration).
